Twelve Important Tips for Sizing and Selecting Pneumatic Controls

Do not select and size pneumatic components without careful thought and care. In most cases, pneumatic cylinders, tools, and drive systems are the primary means of power. When choosing the wrong parts, systems will run poorly and can potentially breakdown. When making a choice, consider the tips below.Pneumatic Controls

Flow vs. pressure is the first thing to consider. In pneumatic control systems, it is crucial to understand the main differences between pressure and flow. It is all too common that operators compensate for a stared flow with a higher pressure.  To avoid this problem, it is best to install an oversized supply line as a means of processing to ensure the appropriate volume of air.

Using electric actuators also helps to suppress ever-increasing energy costs. Using energy-efficient electronic movements is known to provide systems with proper performance abilities. Not only is energy cost kept down, but it also enables precise movement for sophisticated controls.

Make sure to take the time to align pipelines. When you do not adequately align pipelines to correct angles, the possibility of equipment damage drastically goes up.

Check temperature to be sure the surface temperature of equipment (during preventive maintenance time) makes for a high record. Higher temperatures damage the viscosity properties of hydraulic oil and pneumatic airflow.

You must be mindful of your control systems. Using pneumatic controls and pneumatic valves also help to keep systems running optimally.
